Responsibilities included tracking and supervising all labs collected and scheduled for residents.
Acted as the contact person for the psych services consults while monitoring and tracking all psychotropic meds including evaluating gradual dose reductions.
Track and administer all immunizations for staff and residents. Apply all Covid policies including testing and tracking.
Assist with the team of admin nurses with end of month tracking all orders and ensuring all records are accurate and complete for the next month.

This role included on call schedule of one weekend a month and one day a week. As admin staff the expectation was to be on call at all times to cover the nursing positions. This included working as a floor nurse, wound care nurse, and as a SRNA.
I worked along all staff daily assisting in any way possible. while completing admin staff duties and actively participating in interdisciplinary team.

I was hired for full time day shift float nurse. Soon after I was hired, we had our first Covid positive patient. When this happened I volunteered to work the Covid unit. I am one of not many who has continued working the Covid unit. At this point I work at least 4 12 hour night shifts a week. We had maintained a full hall of 28 beds 75% of the time. I work with one to two aids on this unit. This is challenging and highly stressful with constant admissions.
Every shift I administer all meds, administer all insulin with glucose monitoring, administer all IV fluids and or antibiotic fluids, administer PPD tests, and administer/monitor all oxygen therapy.
Collected full sets of vitals on all residents and documenting Covid monitoring and skilled charting. If needed getting several sets of vitals on acute condition changes with communicating with NP.
Administer wound care per orders. While initiating nursing and medical interventions to keep skin intact and/or recognize and care for new skin conditions.
Assisted SRNA with all care, .50% of theses patients were total care. Severely short staffed we work as a team. That includes rounding, passing ice, taking out trash, and cleaning up rooms getting ready for new admissions.
Kept in constant contact with NP on condition of residents. This includes calling on call providers and written communication with staff NP.
Communicated daily with administration on needs and condition changes of residents.
Monitored and assisted lab tech in collecting needed specimen's.
Addressed rapid response and code situations by strategically organizing and delegating tasks.
Counseled patients and families and provided emotional support. . Present information regarding diagnoses, conditions, illnesses, treatments and outcomes to patients and families in clear, easy-to-understand terminology.
