Nurse manager of a 15 bed geriatric inpatient unit. Involved with the construction phase, prior to the unit being open, to contract end at the facility. Collaborated extensively with hospital administration and program director on implementation of programming, budget, safety initiatives throughout the organization (including revision of hospital policies regarding restraints/ de-escalation techniques).
Facility had 5 acute units, 3 inpatient residential and 1 off campus residential program. My job duties included staff development, infection control, employee health and risk management.
Initially worked as a staff nurse on the acute pediatric unit, transferring in 2002 to the admissions department as an intake RN. In 2004, transitioned to the role as night shift nursing supervisor.
