Work History

6th Grade Math Teacher

Shelby County Public Schools
07.2018 - Current
  • I have served as a Middle School Math teacher (6th/7th grade) in Shelby County for 6 years. During my tenure, I have been a member of Shelby West's Site Based Decision Making Council (2019-2021), a member of the Covid Task Force (2020-2021) to make on the spot decisions for keeping students learning and safe during Covid, set as a member of the Superintendent Advisory Council (2018) to help leasion between the board and the school. As a part of my everyday job duties, I have developed and created engaging lessons to help students want to learn math, utilized evidence based practices (such as station teaching, parallel teaching, workshop model, etc.) to cater to individual learning styles. The incorporation of real-world and hands-on activities in my classroom math more relatable and enjoyable to students. This year, I began presenting professional development sessions to teachers both in my district and across the state through KCM. Most recently, I was selected to the Kentucky Department of Education's Innovative Learning Teacher Cohort (2023-24) where I had the opportunity to learn with and from some great educators across the state to develop a PBL for students to explore the history of Kentucky through statistics.

6th Grade Math Teacher

Bullitt County Public Schools
07.2015 - 07.2018
  • I had the opportunity in Bullitt County to learn to teach using the Workshop Model. I developed lessons, created assessments and used data to guide student learning. During my time at Bullitt Lick, I was the Positive Behavior Intervention System (PBIS) coordinator as well as participant/leader of Kegan Strategies Professional Development.
