Work History

Forklift Operator

Ford Motor Company
01.1994 - 03.2024
  • Worked at several different plants holding various job titles, building resiliency along with my skill set.
  • Romeo Engine, niche line building Ford Shelby and racing engines, ensuring quality control through final assembly testing. Responsible for installing pistons in the 4.6L engine in accordance with Q9000 and lean manufacturing standards.
  • Finish metal assembly. Ensuring quality finishes of paint application and vehicle body integration.
  • Utica trim, door panel repairman. Led to my position as an area coordinator, regularly commuting between the U.S. & Canada doing maintenance repairs.
  • Louisville Assembly Plant, forklift operator supplying the assembly line in an extremely fast-paced environment which required attention to detail, organization, and communication between co-workers and supervisors to avoid stoppages.
  • Helped facilitate solutions when problems arose, which led to my position as a Union Steward at UAW Local 400. While in that role I helped to negotiate contractual issues between union members and Ford Motor Company.

Carpenter/Handyman

Self-employed
01.2000 - 09.2004
  • Owner of 2 Hammers and a Bucket of Nails, LLC in Oakland County Michigan. Specialized in custom carpentry, and provided general electrical and plumbing services
  • My proudest accomplishments during this time were completely renovating a 1843 Victorian Farmhouse, and building a 30x40 finished garage/workshop.
  • Through word of mouth referrals, I stayed very busy working jobs for a range of clients.
  • Ultimately, I became unable to keep up with the demand for my services while working a full-time job at Ford that provided me & my family with excellent benefits, and I made the difficult decision to end this business venture.
