Volunteer

Georgetown First United Methodist Church

I currently frequently volunteer with the children's ministry at church.

  • Assisted with special events and programs.
  • I assist with choreography and am an all-around assistant for the Christmas play every year.
  • I teach and assist with the K-5 Sunday School class.
  • I teach and assist with the K-5 Kids Own Worship.
  • I assist with organizing special events for the children throughout the summer.

I currently serve as a co-chair for an element of the Back to School Bash, a community outreach event designed to get kids excited about returning to school.

  • I serve as the co-chair for the backpacks with my mom.
  • We go through the backpacks and make sure each child will get an appropriate backpack for the age and gender of the child listed, make sure they have socks, and make sure each child has a pair of shoes that fit.
  • On the day of the event, I use an iPad to scan the child's name badge so that we can digitally keep track of which children have come through and which children need to be contacted to see when they can go to their school with their family to pick up their items.
