I, Isabella Davis, am a social work major with a minor in veteran studies at Eastern Kentucky University, where I am dedicated to advancing veteran policy and strengthening support systems for service members and their families. I currently serve as the Vice President of Community Relations for the Epsilon Omega chapter of the Alpha Omicron Pi fraternity, overseeing community partnerships, service initiatives, and large-scale philanthropic events. For more than seven years, I have volunteered at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, contributing to long-term care, supporting resident engagement, programming, and doing veteran outreach. I also founded and led Operation Freedom Run: Wilmore 5K. Partnering with the city of Wilmore and the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center, the event raised over $2,000 for the Wounded Warrior project, in which I earned the Hometown Hero Award, a key to the city, along with recognition of my exceptional dedication to the Armed Forces community. My commitment to public service extends beyond veteran advocacy. I previously served as a big sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America for two years, and with Alpha Omicron Pi, I held the Administrative Chair position on a philanthropic team that helped raise over $20,000 for juvenile arthritis research and support. Through academic training, long-term volunteer service, leadership, and community-based initiatives, I have developed a strong commitment to evidence-driven policy, veteran advocacy, and expanding equitable access to federal support programs. I am eager to pursue a career in federal policy that ensures veterans receive comprehensive care during their service and throughout their transition to civilian life. Halfway done with my degree with foundational knowledge in Social Work and Veteran Studies, I demonstrate strong teamwork, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Prepared to start a career and make meaningful contributions to our nation's heroes with commitment and drive.
