Jacinda Miller

As a part time employee at golden glaze I work as a cashier, work drive through, prepare/bag orders, take inventory of goods, answer calls and take special orders. Golden Glaze is also associated with J and J storage in Henderson, KY, so I take storage payments as well. Along with all of this i also help close most days by making sure everything is cleaned, wiped down, and stocked for next day open up.

As a student ambassador i worked many school and community events over the past couple years. along with giving community tours, and tours to upcoming freshmen, i also attended rotary meetings, henderson county board meetings, and weekly ambassador meetings. other events i worked include; Future colonel conversations where we talked to elementary schools about school spirit, what high school is like, and standardized testing. As well as Senior nights for all of our sports at the high school, district welcome day, teacher clean up day, colonel movements, rotary field day, and hosted the golden gala which is a prom that is put on the day after prom for senior citizens and grandparents. Along with those there were so many other events both big and small that were worked over the course of my junior and senior year.

Busy Bee Day care is where i did my clinicals for my highschool for around four months. while there i worked with one other teacher that had a room of 12-13 children from age 3 to 4. there i assisted with their daily routine of waking them up from nap time and helping put away their things, assisting with bathroom breaks, helping set up and clean up snack time, and for the rest of the time i got to be hands on with the children while playing, reading stories, coloring, and doing crafts. I also helped put papers in their folders, and prepare their next crafts for them to make. For all of my time there i was unpaid but i truly loved getting to work with the kids and teachers.

Deaconess Labs is another place that i was able to do clinicals for as a highschool student. During my month there i spent most of my time is the micro biology part of the lab where I learned and was able to conduct patient specimen testing while being observed. I carried out Covid, Flu-vid, MRSA, Strep, and mono tests. I also was able to practice preparing blood smear slide, and conducted one facile matter sample test. Along with hands on practice i was able to talk and get to know different people and parts of the lab.
