While serving with AmeriCorps, I was sent on a disaster deployment to Asheville, North Carolina, to respond to hurricane Helene. I was able to make my way up the ladder while on deployment, and was promoted to the food supervisor for the entire shelter. My duties included-
Serving 150 shelter residents 3 times a day
Keeping inventory of everything in the kitchen
Ordering fulfillment orders from HQ daily, to keep the stock of the kitchen full
Managed volunteers as they would come in to help
