Lead a crew of 3-5 crew members on several types of jobs, mainly large service installs. I would coordinate with the superintendent on the job while also getting locates, material and measurements for the job. I would then have to coordinate with the vault company when I was ready for the vault to be delivered. Once everything was in place I would lead my crew on performing the job until its completion.
While performing daily task as an helper on the job I learned every area of the company and how their process works. Doing every job with integrity so my lead man never had to worry if the job was done right.
Properly testing any meter over 3”. Coordinating with businesses occasionally about having their water turned off for a brief period. Teaching my helper the test and the importance of finding the bad meters.
Reading meters from a route. Making changes to get the route done in a timely manner. Locating broken dials and lids. Making sure the upkeep of the route was suitable for the next person to read
Through the years I volunteered to train in several areas Large services, small services, main breaks, main installations, fire hydrants, meters, meter testing, thawing meters, finding lost meters, building meters, leading people, talking to customers, talking to suppliers, making sure my crew had what they needed, working with supervisors and keeping them informed
