  • I support my K3-198 team through PTO coverage, NRBA projects, training, and informal leadership. I took charge of the NRBA process, cleaning it up, keeping accurate records, and making sure that all projects are scheduled and completed in a timely manner. I take charge during PTO coverage. I ask the customer questions to see how we are showing up, if they have any pain points, if there are things that we could do differently, and making sure that the program is in good working order. I take personal responsibility in making sure that my team is fully trained and prepared for the whole task at hand. I lend a hand in passing along the knowledge that I have gained over the course of my 11 years with Grainger and when I run across a scenario that I don’t have the answer to I do my due diligence to find the right answer for them. Many of my teammates see me as an informal leader and reach out to me to get advice or help for the customers they service.
  • I have worked numerous projects from start to finish on everything from little to large and complex projects. I have taken charge of managing team members and assigning task so that the project would run smoothly. Taking the time for planning the best course of action and working with the customer to find out what they want and need. I have made many different design layouts for Grainger bins and customer shelving to make the most user-friendly option of the product that we stock for the customer. I see all projects through from beginning to the end.
  • I have taken on the ownership of leading the NRBA process. When I started, we had 300+ open task on the log for our territory. I took the time to go through the entire log of old NRBA task to find out which ones were closed and what needed to be taken care of. This has reduced the log to only current open tasks. I have shown the team how to set up their own NRBA pages to make viewing easier. I have also informed the team of the importance of creating and following through with the NRBA process. Since starting this my team has shown great progress compared to previous year’s submissions. I started a call that I hold once a week where the OSS team and my boss come together for me to go through the NRBA log. We discuss and prioritize all upcoming projects and look at any task that are lingering. I reach out to everyone that have task that stay on the log longer than a week to see if they need help to get the NRBA project completed.

  • I managed two Georgia Pacific KS accounts in East Texas. Camden that spends an average of 900K+ a year in KS sales and Corrigan that spends an average of 700K+ a year in KS sales. I handled the day-to-day operations of stocking product and ordering replenishment stock. In addition to this, I handled specialty task for the customer such as getting sourcing quotes, setting up hotshot services when needed, and having meetings with key contacts to help generate new business. These extra tasks often lead to additional revenue won by being willing to go above and beyond.
  • Partnering with the customer. - I worked closely with the customer for 9 years and was able to generate new opportunities for KS such as obtaining new business from competitors like metal working supplies, pipe fittings, and safety supplies. I was able to help create new orders to enhance their products within their business as well as receiving and stocking the products promptly. One opportunity that I worked on was pipe fittings for the Corrigan facility. I had to be persistent and work with the customer over the course of about 6 months before I was awarded the business. This added category business generates 20K+ a year for the KS avenue.
  • Listening to the customer’s needs. – By listening to the customer, I was able to set the customer up with vending to help solve a problem with tracking the spending on certain items and what department and employee used that product. I helped identify continuous problem areas and ways to improve the problem promptly. The customer had an issue with high usage on metal working products. I provided a list of items that I saw being abused by the customers employees to the maintenance manager. I worked with him to set up a coil machine and a locker to dispense these items to track which employee got what and to what department they would be used for. This helped the customer to save money and allow for job specific items to be restricted to maintenance employees that needed them. This helped to show added value as to what Grainger can offer to the customer.
