FIRST Robotics

For more than a decade, I have served as a mentor and coach for PiBotics, FRC Team 3814,helping students develop technical skills, leadership abilities, and confidence through hands-on STEM experiences. I mentor students in project management, outreach, fundraising, and team operations while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment where every student has the opportunity to grow.  PiBotics is known throughout Kentucky and the United States for their positive culture and inclusivity.

I serve on the KY FIRST Board of Directors.  I work collaboratively with fellow board members, mentors, volunteers, and students to strengthen the FIRST community, increase access to robotics education, and create opportunities for students to develop technical skills, leadership abilities, and career-ready experiences. I am especially passionate about supporting student leadership, expanding statewide awareness of FIRST, and building partnerships that help more Kentucky students participate in STEM programs.

Over the past year, I have also had the privilege of mentoring the KY FIRST Student Board of Directors, supporting students as they develop leadership, advocacy, communication, and professional skills while working to expand the impact of FIRST Robotics across Kentucky.  Our main goal was to advocate for Kentucky House Bill 44 (HB 44), Advanced Manufacturing Through Robotics Education Act.  This bill would help provide funding throughout Kentucky for robotics programs.  We look forward to continuing this work and supporting the reintroduction of the bill during the 2027 legislative session.

In addition to mentoring, I served as the Event Coordinator for our 2026 FIRST LEGO League Regional, Riverside Rally, where I led the planning and coordination of a successful competition that brought together teams, volunteers, judges, and community partners to provide an exceptional experience for participants.

Over the past 10 years, I have volunteered at FIRST events across every program level—including FLL, FTC, and FRC—supporting competitions in a variety of volunteer roles to help create positive and inspiring experiences for students.

I am passionate about expanding access to FIRST Robotics by mentoring students from diverse backgrounds, building partnerships within the community, and advocating for increased STEM opportunities throughout Kentucky. Watching students discover their potential, overcome challenges, and become the next generation of innovators is the most rewarding part of my work.
