My job role consisted of drawing up childhood immunizations/vaccines along with antibiotic,steroid injections, and administering all of these vaccines/immunizations/injections to all pediatric patients of all ages. I performed finger sticks for hemoglobin, lead testing and blood sugar levels testing. I also kept stock of all private stock vaccines, kept count and ordered them. I also performed vision and hearing tests. I kept stock of exam room supplies and making sure rooms had what they needed. My job duties also consisted of communication with patients and parents/guardians, gaining chief complaints for visits, charting information, going over medication lists, allergies and medical history, as well as scheduling out of office procedures/imaging by calling the facility/hospital to schedule them, I also took care of patient referrals ordered by the physician and making sure the patient got scheduled and followed up with each referral. My job duties and roles as a CMA/MOA in this busy outpatient urgent care were from office checking patients in and out, checking insurances, taking payments, scheduling procedures/X-rays and keeping track of finances and patient flow. My clinical job duties were rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, preparing/administering injections, breathing treatments, finger sticks and POCT testing. I also obtained urinalysis, drug screens, physical vision and hearing screens. I also kept up with stock of supplies, ordering supplies and making sure exam rooms were stocked and clean. This office only used paper charting so my duty was to document all patient complaints, medication lists and medical history, along with documentation of all tests, injections, procedures and results. As a CNA in this long-term care unit I provided care to rehabilitation patients, elderly dementia/Alzheimer's patients and total care patients.
