  • Assist with oversight of the Division consisting of 5 branches (3 branches involved with mineral taxes, 2 branches involved with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) property tax mapping processes and local support and training for the KY Property Valuation Administrator offices
  • Keep communication open with employees by conducting management meetings in person or virtually as needed
  • Point of contact for Property Tax information for the Revenue accounting program, DORIS
  • Support the Executive Director and Director by reviewing management, personnel and statutory issues as needed
  • Assist with the office move from 4th floor to 10th floor during 2025; conducted a large purge of old documents reducing 46 filing cabinets to 23 and counting
  • Prepare documents or presentations for meetings as needed by other management, offices or agencies
  • Ongoing Manager training, especially in the Natural Resources Property Tax Branch; stepped in 2 separate times to fill in as "manager" for Natural Resources Property Tax Branch in order to keep work flow going when managers resigned
  • Manager support for 3 branches by completing following tasks: serve as contact and filler of the 3rd Party Purchaser requests, open records requests, and court orders; also serve as liaison between COT and all the county Property Valuation Administrators for the Commonwealth, have assisted in streamlining the process to decrease wait time by 45% and track all 3 agencies involved in process
  • Ensure Division conformity to regulations and policies; reviewing the retention schedules for our branches, which includes the cataloging, retaining and preservation of historic mine and property maps of KY.
  • Functioned as the "acting" Director of the Division 2017-2020.

Revenue Branch Manager

Building on the work experience led into a stronger management experience which included the following:

  • Supervise employees, assigning tasks to facilitate the workflow in severance tax branch
  • Approve several processes bi-monthly including time sheets, refunds
  • Conduct Branch meetings, ensure employees are current with policy changes and that the communication lines are open
  • Write reports for business needs and for personnel issues, participated at the Personnel Board to testify 3 times on behalf of our Division; experienced in documenting behavior incidents, fact-finding conferences, calmly negotiating and confronting a difficult employee, while keeping the work-flow going as smoothly as possible for the branch and the office

  • Assist in inventory of our mapping and office equipment and the ongoing inventory and retention of maps that are required to be permanently retained. Involved in legal meetings with companies to negotiate and resolve protested issues.
