Michele Edens

I currently work as an assistant in the functional academics classroom with children who have disabilities. I am responsible for taking care of their education needs as well as physical/mental when needed to help them learn and become better at being in a more general setting with their peers. I am also apart of our schools emergency response team and received my heartsavers CPR and AED for children as well as my CPI certification while being there.

• Enhanced student support by delivering one-on-one and small group assistance in various subjects.
• Collaborated with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans for students with special needs.

During my time as a caregiver of an elderly lady I gave attentive care and companionship as well as cooked her food, gave her medicines, took her to and made appointments, cleaned her home, and cared for her as needed.

• Promoted mental stimulation through engaging conversations, recreational activities, and memory exercises tailored to each individual''s interests.

As a childcare assistant I was a lead teacher and conducted different learning activities and lessons each day. I was also responsible for making sure that we were in OSHA regulations at all times as well as communication with the parents and staff.

As a childcare helper i was responsible for providing care to children from 6 weeks to 5 yrs old. I engaged them in different activities and lessons as well as outdoor play and helping them do routine things such as washing hands and putting on and tying their shoes.
