Accomplishments

While being employed with St. Matthews Fire & EMS, I have obtained extensive amounts of knowledge, training, and leadership skills. I have training and experience in many different areas, including AARF training, structural firefighting, vehicle extrication, search and rescue operations, ladders, ropes and knots, vehicle/semi-trailer stabilization, water, gas, and utilities, sprinkler systems, alarm panels, traffic control, radio operations, scene operations, mass casualties, and much more.

Aside from the fire side, I have also obtained a number of skills, knowledge, and training on the EMS side as well. During the fire academy, I was highly trained in on-scene EMS operations. It was during the academy that I obtained my NREMT certification and hours. After the academy, I was faced with real-life medical emergencies, including respiratory arrest, seizures, cardiac arrest, and much more. Throughout my time with St. Matthew's Fire I have cultivated my life saving abilities quite extensively.
