· Perform supervisory responsibilities as described in Supervisory Responsibility section below.

· Serve as subject matter expert and spokesperson for the department(s) supervised, as needed for press interviews and other presentations.

· Provides direction regarding nursing policies, procedures and issues related to school health nurses.

· Participates in protocol development and implementation related to school health nursing of local, regional and state plans.

· Manages school health leadership staff, to accomplish the objectives outlined in the FCPS contract.

· Oversees Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement projects related to school health, including conducting QA chart audits.

· Recruits, hires, orients, counsels, and evaluates those under direct supervision.

· Identifies program goals and monitors program quality and metrics.

· Directs the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of school health programs.

Helped fill in as Director of Health Services (DHS) at two other facilities while the construction on the facility I was hired for was completed. The facility was a 90 bed LTC, Short-Term, and Personal Care facility.

Hired all of the nursing staff, set up the new building from scratch.

Conducted all orientation and training.

Supervised staff, including all discipline and terminations for over 80 nursing staff.

Attending daily marketing meetings. Participated in marketing events.

Was able to grow many on the nursing team into leaders. Some gained tuition support to continue their education.

Participated in stringent state surveys, with 5 star Ratings.

Oversaw all aspect of nursing care for a 120 bed Medicaid, Medicare, Private pay facility with mostly Long-Term residents and some short stay residents.

Had a leadership team of 10 nurses, mixture of RNs and LPNs between three shifts and a weekend plan.

Conducted daily meetings with my leadership team to discuss resident care, admissions and discharges.

Worked closely with facility Medical Director and had monthly and as needed meetings with he or his nurse practioner.

Ensured staff practiced safe nursing care, provided competency check offs yearly, upon hire and as needed.

Followed up on any staffing concerns, disciplinary or patient/family concerns.

Stayed state survey ready and often received 5 star ratings.

Worked closely with the facility Administrator, and in between Administrators I filled in and oversaw facility operations.
